The boy looks back at Lance, with a smug face that quickly drops as notices a huge Klanmüirl rising up behind him with its mouth gaping. As soon as he registers it, he lets out a scream.
Lance turns and sees the big angry bear and lets out his own shout of fear.
"Aaaaahhh! Run!"
He yells at the boy as he narrowly avoids a strong swipe from the bear. They run away from the bear and turn around to see it rapidly running towards them. Lance quickly finds a way to escape and pulls The black haired boy out of his stunned stupor yelling, "This way!" The kid follows Lance narrowly escaping another swipe. They come across a river, with no other way to go, they use the rocks a s a bridge to reach the other side. leaping from rock to rock across the river and out of the reach of the Klanmüirls jaws as more and more start to appear. They reach the other side of the river, and stop running, and begin to pant and giggle. The boy is the first to comment on what just happened.
"That was a close one."
He pants, a small smile etching on his face as he looks at Lance. Lance nods with his own smile,
"Yeah...".
The break is short lived however, as there were more Klanmüril on their side, slowly approaching them, snarling all the while. The boy is quick to react by grabbing Lance's hand and running away from them, and lets go when hes sure that the Altean is following behind. Lance runs up a tree, and onto a limb, getting out of reach; however, the young Druid runs past him, dodging in well practiced moves from bear to bear. Lance notices his companion is no longer with him and yells out after him,
"Hey.. what about me?" He yelps as a Klanmüril approaches his tree, and starts scratching the sides. The kid, while still running, looks back at Lance,
"I'll distract them. Run!" He yells as he dodges once more from a swipe. He continues, until his foot unfortunately slips out from under him, and he falls forward rolling to a stop. Keith recovers, though still disoriented, and sees the big bears approaching him, and attempts to get up but he fails to get his footing right. Lance is kicking at the bear who is trying to get him, but the rosy colored bear's attention goes somewhere else and runs away from Lance. The Altean sighs a moment of relief, but then he notices why. The kid was almost surrounded by the angry pack. Lance gasps, and quickly jumps down from the tree, and without thinking runs toward danger to save the kid. He doesn't have a plan, but he grabs a medium length stick with a heavy end, and continues to run towards his friend, hoping he could make it on time. Lance notices a Klanmüirl approaching the kid from behind, and he doesn't notice for his attention is on the two currently in front of him. Lance could only think to yell out a warning of "Look out!" to him. The Druid thankfully notices, and hastefully dodges a violent swipe. Though he is on the ground again, panicking paralyzed in fight. One of the bears that is slowly closing in on him, suddenly winces back in pain as it quickly turns around, only to get logged in the head with a stick. The same happens to the others, and they are disoriented. The druid doesn't register what is happening until Lance is pulling up on his arm, yelling,
"Come on, get up! Move it!"
The two quickly run away from the wild animals toward a high, but climbable to those able, cliff. The druid nimbly climbs up, stopping to help Lance climb some more harder parts.
The boy makes it up to the top, and turns back around to pull Lance over the edge. From the top, they pant and rest for a few moments, then move back to look over the edge. The bears are massing below, furious at being cheated of their meal.
Two in a row! Ha!
This one took longer to do tho, probably bc I spent a lot of time doing the tree. And find references to draw the Klanmüirl. Though I am happy on how that turned out!~ Also happy with how I drew Lance hanging on the branch.
